The Puratchi Thalaivar Dr.MGR College of Education, run by the Puratchi Thalaivar Dr.MGR Educational and Welfare Trust was established in the rural area of Kalkinatruvalasai Village, Keelanagatchi Panchayat, Uchipuli of Ramanathapuram District, Tamil nadu in the year 2006. The B.Ed course was recognized by the Southern Regional Committee, National Council for Teacher Education, Bangalore vide Order No: F.SRO/NCTE/B.ED/2006-2007/8111 dated 3-10-06 for an intake of 100 students. The teacher training programme is designed to develop overall personality of the students. Thus, Intellectual, Physical, Character and Social development are very important to develop their personalities and to evolve a complete man.
